A fundamental principle of being a visual artist is making something visible, creating an awareness of new ways of seeing.

One of our roles as artists is to have the capacity to observe intently, draw benefit from our expression, and remain susceptible to transcending what we see through creative action within the framework of the medium.

It is a record of careful looking, embedded in our profession, that forms part of our passion and our gift to others.

Art is a language unto itself, and we should not attempt to translate it. Like spirituality, it should not be handed over to the priest or guru. When we do this, we lose the power and relevance of the communication.
